Image
KOWA Party candidates in the Edo State governorship election, Thompson Osadolor, has withdrawn from the race.  Osadolor, who confirmed this to our correspondent on Saturday, explained that his decision to withdraw from the election followed the impact of the shift on his campaign. The Independent National Electoral Commission had on Thursday postponed the poll after the Nigeria Police Force and the Department of State Security suggested a shift due to security threats. But the KOWA candidate, who condemned the postponement, lamented that the failure of INEC to hold the election on September 10 ‘destabilised’ his campaign. He said, “I am not satisfied with the postponement of the election. They (INEC) knew that we would win the election; that was why they postponed the election. “Having done that, they have destabilised us. That is one of the reasons we withdrew.‎” Osadolor, however, endorsed the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, ...

However, it was to be Tottenham's last win of the season as draws against West Brom and Chelsea were followed by back-to-back defeats to Southampton and Newcastle United as Pochettino's men finished third. "Did I think we would win the league? Yes," Pochettino told reporters. "After our performance and our victory – it was a fantastic 4-0 – we all believed it would be possible to win the league, yes. "But it is one thing is to believe and another is to deliver and win games....

"Recession:Do Not Be Pushed Into Unnecessary Spending For Any Reason

In view of the present economic situation around the world and Nigeria in particular , adequate cautions must be taking by us all. Be prepared to let go of some things and spend only when absolutely necessary. If you have saved money, try not to touch it quickly. Avoid capital projects until you are certain of replenishing your bank accounts. Avoid social travels that bring no added income. If attending a burial, wedding, naming ceremony, marriage anniversary will eat into your savings, avoid them. You would be called names, accept the name calling but understand that these same people will call you worse names if you have to borrow from them to feed your family. Reduce your responsibilities. Your first duty is to your family. If you don't provide for them, others will rarely do so. Talk to your friends who are working not to bother asking you for favours. Avoid those who ask you in advance what you are going to get for them on their birthdays or Valentine day. They tell y...

Sequel to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s Decision this afternoon to go ahead with the Edo State Gubernatorial Election as scheduled; and their immediate reversal of that patriotic stance, the Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, CON, has re-iterated its earlier position that the Saturday September 10, 2016 Election Date should remain sacrosanct since there is no tangible reason(s) evident to tamper with the Election. The call for the postponement of the Election by top hierarchy of the security agencies predicated on alleged security threat was a less than ingenious attempt to buy time for the APC which is clearly heading for a major electoral catastrophe on Saturday. "It is shameful and indeed a major constitu...
