According to @NCDCgov, Abba Kyari tested positive to covid 19 on the 24/03/2020, alongside the Gov of Bauchi state. Coronavirus: Buhari’s Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, dies as cases hit 493

The Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, is dead. He died on Friday at age 81. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, said the deceased died of COVID-19. Announcing Kyari’s death via his verified Twitter handle, @GarShehu, Shehu wrote, “The Presidency regrets to announce the passage of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari. “The deceased had tested positive to the ravaging COVID-19, and had been receiving treatment. But he died on Friday, April 17, 2020.” Shehu said funeral arrangements for the deceased would be announced soon. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, also wrote via his verified Twitter handle @FemAdesina, “Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, passes on. Police frustrating my efforts to curb Coronavirus in Ondo – Akeredolu

The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on Sunday alleged the Ondo state police command of being responsible for the influx of people from other states despite the ban on inter-state movement. The Governor who spoke through his Special Adviser on Special Duties, Dr Doyin Odebowale also alleged that the police were frustrating the effort of the government at containing the spread of the pandemic. Odebowale who visited the state boundaries on Sunday, accused the police of allowing people to enter the state after paying a bribe to the police.
