Fighting COVID-19: UBA donates 28.5 million Naira to Ondo State Government

The United Bank for Africa Plc, through the UBA Foundation, has donated the sum of N28.5 million to the Ondo State Government as its contribution to the fight against the Coronavirus disease. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Olurotimi Obagaye, Regional Head of the bank, presented the cheque to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in his office on Monday. Obagaye, who expressed the hope that the donation would go a long way in helping the state in the fight against COVID-19, prayed to God to have mercy on the world. Responding, Akeredolu thanked the UBA Foundation and Tony Elemelu for the kind gesture. He said the bank had done well for the country and Africa at large, with the donation of such a huge sum of money, which was being shared among states.

So dishearted that another state Gov in Nigeria tested positive for coronavirus. He made this know on his twitter handle few minutes ago.   I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is POSITIVE. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate. I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully. COVID-19: Ondo State Orders Total Closure Of Markets

As part of measures to stem the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ondo State had ordered partial closure of markets across the state. The directive advisedly, excluded life saving items such as food, water and medicines. It has been observed however, that residents have flagrantly disobeyed this directive which is a potent measure to avoid the spread of COVID-19 pandemic. Compelled by this unwholesome infraction, Government hereby places a total ban on all markets across Ondo State with effect from Tuesday, 31st March, 2020. This ban is  irrespective of any item. Just In: El-Rufai tests positive for coronavirus

The Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has tested positive for coronavirus. He is in self-isolation as required by the case management guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. He make this know on a live broadcast urging his citizens to be calm and comply with the rules of the Government making his Deputy Governor to be in charge of the state's task force.  He conclude that and urging it's citizens to stay home, stay save and remain healthy that he will be fine and better. Lampard wary of putting pressure on Chelsea players amid coronavirus uncertainty

Frank Lampard said he preferred not to just "push and push" his Chelsea players amid uncertainty over when, and if, the Premier League season will resume. The Premier League will not resume until April 30 at the earliest due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it may yet be on hold even longer. Lampard is wary of asking too much from his players with the uncertainty over the league resuming. "It is very difficult at the moment because we have got nothing concrete in front of us," the Chelsea head coach told the club's The 5th Stand app. "We have seen that things can change very quickly, so we can only go by the dates we have been given but daily or probably weekly we are looking at it saying, 'Well, how do we train? Callum Hudson-Odoi: Chelsea winger 'fully recovered' from coronavirus

Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is "fully recovered" from coronavirus, says Blues manager Frank Lampard. The England international, 19, became the first Premier League player to test positive for Covid-19 earlier this month. "I spoke to him throughout that first week when he first got the illness and it was a strange time," Lampard said. "Thankfully he didn’t suffer too much and we are happy he’s come through this." Chelsea were fourth in the Premier League when elite football in Britain was suspended on 13 March.

Fear gripped Akure community as explosive Devices suspected to be bomb that are being transported to the northern part of the country have exploded along Akure-Owo highway in Ondo state, Viralloaded has gathered. The blast that caused apprehension among most residents of Akure, Obaile, Eleyowo, Iluabo, Osi and environs in Ondo state, destroyed a popular church beside road, “Possibility Church”, where some people were said to have been feared killed.
